Round Two:
Back to the
Harvest Fields
Born on May 6, 1966, in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, Chuck grew up in a close-knit family of German, Dutch, and Irish heritage. At eighteen years old, he experienced a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ that set the course for the rest of his life. After graduating from Bible school, Chuck answered the call to the nations. In 1988—at the close of the Hair Band Era—he left the comforts of home to bring the Gospel to ethnic minorities who had never heard the name of Jesus.
After marrying Wendy, the two united their callings and stepped out together. As they followed God’s leading, the Lord blessed them with two sons, and their growing family continued the mission with the same faith, courage, and dedication that marked their early years. Guided by the book of Acts and fueled by the Holy Spirit, they learned the value of teamwork, endurance, and unwavering faith. Through years of prayer, sacrifice, and on-the-ground ministry, the Lenharts witnessed hundreds of churches planted and countless lives transformed.
Christophers, the youngest son of the Lenharts. fell ill with epilepsy, and the Lord led the family to return to the United States after over 20 years on the mission field. As they recovered and regained strength, Chuck and their oldest son, Jared, began traveling to the nations once again from their base in America. Out of this new season, the Harvest Festival Initiatives was birthed-an effort designed to gather leaders from the depths of the Himalayan regions to the vast grasslands of Mongolia, equipping them and sending them into unreached territories that had not yet been touched by the gospel.
The Lenharts later took another bold step of faith and returned to China for “round two,” traveling throughout their growing network and strengthening the body of believers. During this season, they established a motorcycle ministry, planted a new house church network where they were living, and journeyed across the nation—from the far north to the deep south—equipping the saints and building up the body of believers in the underground church.

A New Era Rooted
in Legacy
Sensing the leading of the Holy Spirit, the Lenhart family moved to Mandalay to expand the work. During this season, they strengthened a children’s home, carried out disaster-relief outreach, planted a growing house-church network, and equipped several unreached people groups with the Word of God in the midst of war-torn regions. During these years, Jared—the eldest son—married Julia, a second-generation Lisu believer, and together they followed Jesus in serving the nation of Burma and walking faithfully in their shared calling.
In time, a new health crisis arose with their youngest son, Christopher. Chuck, Wendy, and Christopher were medevaced to Thailand for better medical care, leaving Jared, Julia, their son Elijah, and the FHM team to continue the work in Burma. A couple of years later, Jared and Julia returned to America with Elijah to be with the family during this difficult season—entrusting the ministry to the discipled national believers raised up on the ground.
As the team paused to rest in the Lord and look toward new networks on the horizon, Charles “Chuck” Lenhart—devoted husband, father, missionary, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ—went home to be with the Lord on October 26, 2025. After courageously battling cancer, he finished his race and received his victor’s crown.
Chuck’s passion was simple yet profound: to take the Gospel where it had not been proclaimed and to establish God’s kingdom among the nations. He spent his life mentoring teams, strengthening local leaders, and igniting revival across Asia. His legacy endures in every church planted, every soul reached, and every disciple raised to carry the mission forward. Today, his wife, Wendy, his younger son, Christopher, and his older son, Jared—together with Jared’s family—faithfully lead Frontier Harvest Ministries, building upon Chuck’s legacy and advancing the Great Commission among the unreached peoples of Asia.
Since Charles Lenhart's Passing in the fall of 2025, Frontier Harvest Ministries has stepped into a new season of growth and expansion. Under the leadership of Jared Lenhart and the FHM team, the ministry has continued to actively advance the Gospel by mobilizing the American church toward the world’s most unreached places. Through strategic partnerships, leadership gatherings, discipleship networks, mission initiatives, and constant engagement with local believers across Asia, FHM is strengthening the bridge between churches in America and the forgotten corners of the nations. Today, Jared and the team are carrying forward the foundation laid by Chuck and Wendy Lenhart—building upon their legacy, expanding the reach of the ministry, and leading a new generation to bring the hope of Jesus Christ to those who have never heard His name.
